The irrigation should be designed differently, not just more. 

You can choose larger species or more smaller ones.  Balance, flow, and spacing are important, but the soil is the key.

A weak plant, put in great soil, will heal and eventually thrive.  A perfect plant, planted in crummy soil, will weaken and grow sickly. A great plant in great soil will be awesome.

It needs to be pleasing to the eye, but not get in the way of your business.
